After our first days in Beijing we soon felt like leaving from this city. Although it ain’t that busy and there is nothing wrong with it we have to admit that cities are not our cup of tea.

As our train for Xi’an is only leaving today we were a little bit stuck in the city. So we had to fill another 3 days in Beijing! Soon we decided to go for a 2 days trip to the Great Wall. We left at 6 in the morning with a tourbus to Jinshaling, a quieter and more spectacular place to view the Great Wall than many touristy sites. (Continue…)

After 12 hours of flights (and almost NO delays!) we arrived in Beijing, capital of China. Contrary to what we read, we didn’t have a culture shock and felt right at home. It took Gregory about 1 hour to find the first restaurant and dig in for some dumplings (Continue…)

This week is the Golden Week Holidays in China. During this period, over a billion people have the week off and take the opportunity to travel and visit the Chinese cities. Beijing has seen no less than 300.000 tourists on the first day of the National Holiday and Shanghai expects a baffling 4.2 million visitors during the entire week.

… and that’s why we decided to leave next week and not this week
