The GR 12 is a trekking route from Amsterdam to Paris. Hike along with us as we discover what it’s all about.

Today we continue where we left off in Ronquières near the inclining plateau. This part of the GR 12 is very pleasant and i would recommend it any sunny sunday walk. Bring along your friends and family, there’s not many hills and you can easily scale the trip to fit your own capacities.

If you’ve been following our series on the GR 12, you’ll have noticed that we’ve started in Dworp and moved south from there. Today we’re heading out into the other direction and go from Dworp to Brussels.

The scenary is absolutely breathtaking. It’s quite amazing that one can be so close to the capital of Europe and still be surrounded by farms, fields and woodlands. The only downside is the ominous background noise, caused by the Brussels’ Ring. (Continue…)
Today we were joined by two friends to continue our exploratioun of the GR 12. We started where we left off, near Ittre at the Canal Brussels Charleroi. Since our fellow walkers weren’t all that well trained, we headed out for a “short” walk of about 4-5 hours, following the GR up to Ronquières and then tracking back along the canal side. (Continue…)
We’ve recently discovered the pleasure of hiking along white and red signs across the country. If you ever go outside in Belgium, you’ve certainly noticed them and wondered: what is this. Well, they’re indication for walking trails and they’re are absolutely great!
We’ve done quite a few of them in the past months and there’s one that we’re trying to follow for a longer period: the GR 12. By longer period, i mean that we walk about 20-30kms of it, but always return back to our starting point and our car. So we’re not progressing all that fast
