The trip is over…

P1040064 Yep, we’ve reached the end of our Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand cycling trip. The last 2 days haven’t been too easy as we climbed to 1000m high in Kao Yai National Park and passed Tigers, Cobra’s and Elephants (at least according to the signs). We camped out next to a pond and we saw fireflies for the first time in our lifes. The night was cold and we were very happy to feel the warmth of the rising sun in the morning.

After a quick breakfast, we set out for the last leg of our trip: down the mountain. At terrifying speeds we sped down towards Prachinburi, our final destination.

“But you won’t fly back for another 2 weeks!”, i hear you say. Right and i think that after our efforts of the last couple of months we have really deserved some holidays. Lying on the beach, sipping cocktails and looking at the coconut trees grow… So we’re now going to search for a nice piece of paradise somewhere along Thailands’ East coast and install ourselfs in a hammack for 2 weeks. Vacaction at least!

One final contest question, with an invitation for our “Back Home Asian Buffet” for the winner.

What is the maximum speed Greg achieved during this final downhill section?

  • http://www.fonze.be Adri

    73 km/h

  • Jp

82 kmh… cycling down from the 1000 meters high mountain with back wind and the motivation of the last run !

  • jyp

    I hesitate between 77.5 km/h and 64 km/h.

    Let’s choose 64.

  • http://www.art2blog.be Joeri

    I’ll go for 68km/h

Btw Greg, a good hotel in Thailand –> http://www.sixsenses.com/Evason-Phuket/index.php

Probably a dream compared to what you have been sleeping in the past months but it’s for sure worth it. I’ve been there… ;-)

  • Kristof

    that would be approx. 71km/h

    Hi Ine,
Remember me? I’m Fanny from Genesys Conferencing. We were in contact for the quarterly IR announcements at Option. Erm… Why am I telling you that? I’m sure that you forgot everything about your work and that it’s the last thing you want to think about right now :)
I’ve been following your adventures over the last months and you really impressed me! Not only your stories were delightful to read and the pictures amazingly beautiful but your bicycle trip… waaaowwww!!! Respect!!!
Besides you and Gregory seem so peaceful and relaxed on the pictures :)
Thank you for having shared your experiences with us. You brightened our cold, dark and rainy belgian winter days and made us dream.
I wish you all the best for the coming 2 weeks and a safe return.
    Speak to you soon!
    Cheers,
    Fanny
