It is all about choices

Travelling the world often confronts you with choices… because unfortunately we do not have enough time or money to visit everything we want to. After we travelled to Myanmar, everything became possible. Before we left we planned that after Indonisia we would travel back overland via vietnam, cambodja and laos to myanmar and then back home. But as we were already in myanmar we started doubting about our next destination. So we had to take make some choices.

 Some were very logic, like… no we will not travel back home over land while it is -40 degrees in Russia. Other were more difficult. Like are we willing to pay 500 Euros to fly to India and back and wait 2 week for a visum, knowing that the country of India is something completly different from the rest of Asia (and taking the chance to visit this country that you or hate or love). Or like why not go to New Zealand and discover it by camper as it is “only” 12 hours away.

So we started thinking about what we really liked while travelling. Of course food and eating were our first priority, followed by nature (trekking) and budget (yes yes after 3 months in asia we even find 2 euros for dinner expensive). Combine that with the fact that we usually take things the easy way (ahum) we finally decided to go for this new great plan.

As we “only” have 14 weeks or something left we decided to stick to our first plan and go for cambodja, vietnam and laos. But we wouldn’t be Gregory and Ine of we didn’t decide to give this trip something extra. That’s why we bought ourselfs 2 brandnew trekking bikes (unfortunately we did not find a tandem), for the second time in 3 months leave our backpacks behind, and as from tomorrow we will travel to Cambodja by bike… No idea how far we will get. Maybe we will never make it to Vietnam or Laos. But at least it will be something different
