All ready for the JoyRide
This story was posted under the categories: Uncategorized
Yesterday I went to explore the route that I had defined for the MTB joyride. I can tell you that it is going to rock. One part of the trip will be an exceptional half hour long single track through thick forest at the end of which you’ll arrive at the walls of a real castle, towering above you. Only to turn back into the woods and plow through even more singletracks. Not coming would be ashame as this is a one-time chance!
It turned out that the trip was quite heavy, given the recent amount of rain that has fallen in the forest. I was covered top to bottom with mud, but always with a happy smile to top it off! So you might want to bring some extra clothing if the weather hasn’t turned sunny by then.
The circuit is 8-shaped, meaning that it consists of 2 loops, a bigger one and a smaller one. We’ll combine both of them, but if for some reason you want to stop after the big one, you’ll be able too. That’s also the reason why we’ll start a little further from my home, so that we’ll be right in the middle of the 8. Who knows, maybe somebody wants to set up some provisioning there for when we drive by?
So the starting location is on the Duboislaan at Hoeilaart, close to the Ring around Brussels. There’s not really an address, but you can’t miss the big parking, on your left-hand side when you come from the ring.
If you still want to participate, drop a comment on the original post.
PS/ for people who don’t have a MTB, i have one to spare and you can hire one at a store close to the starting point… Let’s see which excuse dooly will use now
